We are interested in exploring the potential of social robots in rendering personalized and adaptive support to young children in real-world learning contexts.
New! With funding from UMBC’s Sherman Center for Early Learning in Urban Communities, we are conducting pilot studies with public schools in Baltimore City (K-2 grade band) to understand the feasibility and effectiveness of the long-term deployment of educational robots in the real world with a diverse student population. We will use the educational social robot platform ABii (Van Robotics Inc), which is equipped with state and national standards-aligned curriculum in K-5 math, reading, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
